‘Phantom Thread’ to be screened

MARQUETTE — The Peter White Public Library invites film fans to enjoy a bring-your-own-dinner movie event at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a screening of the 2017 film “Phantom Thread.”

Due to construction, the film will be shown in the library’s Business Reference Room on the upper level.

Reynolds Woodcock and his sister Cyril are the center of British fashion in post-war 1950s London. They dress royalty, movie stars and socialites. Reynolds has always found inspiration in the numerous women who have crossed his path, but when he meets Alma, he finds a young, strong-willed woman who becomes his sole muse and lover. Starring Vicky Krieps, Daniel Day-Lewis and Lesley Manville, this drama is rated R and runs 130 minutes. Nominated for 6 Oscars, this film won best achievement in costume design.

There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library.
