Piano performances at Erickson

CURTIS — The Erickson Center for the Arts, Curtis, presents An Evening of Piano at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug.29.

Hear several local pianists perform their favorite pieces on the beautiful Steinway. This a free event, donations are appreciated.

Jacobetti vets invited to event

NEGAUNEE — Residents of the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans are invited to VFW Post 3165 in Negaunee for a picnic style supper and bingo game at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29.

Robotics team fundraiser planned

ISHPEMING — The Westend Gearbusters High School Robotics team is holding a cookout/fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at Jim’s Jubilee Foods along U.S. 41 in Ishpeming.

They will also be accepting donations of returnable cans/bottles. All funds raised will be used to help pay for expenses and cover the cost of entry fees for the upcoming 2019 First Robotics season. The public is invited to stop by, enjoy lunch and support the team.

Concert series going country

L’ANSE — The L’Anse Lakefront Concerts presents the traditional country music and more of the Rolling Thunder Band at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 in the Lakefront Park, foot of Broad Street. The event is free.

Meadowbrook Arena is the inclement weather site.

Dance at Sawyer museum set

K.I. SAWYER — A dance is planned at the Heritage Air Museum at K.I. Sawyer from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2.

Music will be provided by the Hartbeats.
