Lectures — Brandeis University Professor Isaac Krauss will present two distinct lectures on designing carbohydrate HIV vaccines at Northern Michigan University. The lectures are free and open to the public. The first was Thursday night. The second, “Combining Organic Synthesis and Directed Evolution to Design Carbohydrate HIV Vaccines” will be offered at 1:30 p.m. Frthis date in in 2906 West Science. Following his Friday lecture, Krauss will provide students with information on graduate school programs.

Schizophrenics Alliance Group — is a six-step support group for individuals with schizophrenia or a related disorder. Meetings will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Brantley Drop-In. Contact Annette at 226-1077 for more information.

Alanon — meets 1:30 p.m., Grace Episcopal Church, corner of First and Canda streets, Ishpeming.

Relay for Life — at Northern Michigan University starts at 3 p.m. at Vandament Arena in the Physical Education and Instructional Facility of NMU and ends at 3 a.m. Everyone is invited to come help the community of Marquette honor its members who have fought and are fighting their battle with cancer as the students raise money for the American Cancer Society. People are invited to drop in to walk the track, eat delicious food, play games, and win prizes. Fish fry — Ishpeming VFW Post 4573, 310 Bank St., will be having Friday Night Fish Fry, from 4-7 p.m. Take out available. Cooked and served by volunteers, the meal will include a choice of perch, cod, salmon or shrimp. In addition, golden fried chicken, ribeye steaks and burgers are available. All dinners include french fries, baked potato or onion rings, plus applesauce, coleslaw and roll, coffee, tea and dessert. Call 486-4856 for more information.

Fish fry — is 5-7:30 p.m., Negaunee Eagles Club.

Fish fry — American Legion Post 44, 700 W. Bluff St., Marquette will have fish fry from 5-7 p.m. On the menu are whitefish, shrimp or chicken strips and choice of baked potato or french fries. All meals include cole slaw and/or salad. This meal is open to the public.

Film — CineArts Films, a series devoted to foreign and independent films, presents the 2014 film “Labyrinth of Lies” at 6 p.m. in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room. This is a BYO dinner event. No admission charge.

Teen Night — is 6-10 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Gwinn. Free movies, games and popcorn. Call 346-6115.
