Upper Peninsula Supply Co. ribbon cutting

The Lake Superior Community Partnership recently teamed up with Upper Peninsula Supply Co. to celebrate its 10-year anniversary as well as the grand opening of its new brick-and-mortar location in downtown Marquette. Attendees had the opportunity to meet U.P. Supply Co.’s owners and enjoy refreshments, giveaways, and networking with fellow “Yoopers.” Upper Peninsula Supply Co. (formerly Yooper Steez) was founded in 2008 by Upper Peninsula ambassador, Bugsy Sailor. The brand is credited with the launch of products such as the original U.P. silhouette tee, campaigns like Plaidurday and 906 Day, and Yooper Singles, a conceptual dating site launched on April Fools Day. Sailor partnered with Paul Hess in 2017, and the duo now works together to “foster community by creating unique goods and campaigns that celebrate the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.” Located on 221 W. Washington St. in downtown Marquette, U.P. Supply Co. offers a variety of local retail products and an environment for creatives to aid in the advocacy of the Upper Peninsula. The store is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and can be reached at 906-273-2848 or www.upsupply.co.
