Arctic Blast Gala — The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Chamber of Commerce announces, on behalf of the Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, an upcoming event, U.P. Campout Arctic Blast Gala. The gala will be inside the U.P. Masonic Center, 128 W. Washington St., Marquette. The gala captures the camp experience with an Arctic Chill. Adults can earn badges at activity stations such as STEM, knot tying, campfire sing-along, first aid, backpack bonanza, beer and wine tasting, and more. Attire is a mix-match of camp and formal. Wear “swampers” with a party dress ora fishing vest with suit pants. The adults-only event will take place from 5-8:30 p.m. Appetizers, drinks, and a buffet dinner will be served. MSO — The Marquette Symphony Orchestra’s second annual Chamber Music Collage Concert will be presented by MSO musician-volunteers. Small ensembles have been formed to present a collage with a variety of musical styles — all within two 30-minute non-stop music halves. Orchestra members are excited about this concert and have prepared a delightful mix of fun and serious selections, according to an MSO press release. The event provides a unique opportunity for the musicians to perform chamber music and the collage format will make it a special treat for the audience, too. The concert will be performed at Northern Michigan University Reynolds Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and are available at the door only.

Dance — Dance Zone will host a dance featuring the Western/Ballroom band Angels & Outlaws. This popular five-piece band will play from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Admission charge is $10; free to club social members.

Ships — the Marquette Maritime Museum at 7 p.m. at the Ore Dock Brewing Company for Dan Fountain’s presentation “Ships That Go Bump in the Night: Collisions Off Presque Isle.” Over the summer of 2017, two historic shipwrecks missing for more than a century were found in Lake Huron — not once, but twice. Dan Fountain will share his experiences in researching, searching for, and documenting the shipwrecks of the wooden steamer OHIO, sunk in 1894, and the steel freighter CHOCTAW, lost in 1915.
