NPL group to have holiday party
NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Public Library Junior Teen Advisory Group is holding a holiday party for local children at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the library.
Children ages 5-15 years are welcome to attend, make crafts, play board games, and enjoy peanut-aware foods and refreshments.
Blue Christmas service scheduled
MARQUETTE — For many people, the approaching Christmas holiday does not bring with it joy and happiness.
For those struggling with loneliness and grief during the holiday season, Messiah Lutheran Church will hold a Blue Christmas service at 3 p.m. Sunday.
A service of healing and hope, the scripture, music and meditations focus on the comfort God offers during dark times. Following the service there will be time for light refreshments and fellowship. Messiah is located at 305 W. Magnetic St., Marquette.

Holiday concert at PWPL
MARQUETTE — Come to the Peter White Public Library and get into the holiday spirit with a special concert with Front Street Brass at 7 p.m. Monday in the library’s community room.
Front Street Brass is a 6-person brass ensemble with David Allen on trombone/euphonium, Brad Bender on horn, Tom Bronken on tuba, Mike Crothers on trumpet, Joe Hellberg on trumpet, and Beth Wilson on horn. They will be playing a variety of Christmas Carol arrangements that originated in various countries from around the world and span time periods from the 1500’s to the present.

NAMI gathering on tap
MARQUETTE — The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Alger/Marquette offers confidential support groups and educational meetings for individuals living with mental illness and friends or families living with an individual with mental illness.

Sault Tribe Christmas party planned
MARQUETTE — Sign-up for the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Christmas party goes through Dec. 13.
Those who wish to sign up should call 866-279-8323 with the number and ages of children who will be attending.
The party will be taking place from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 for kids ages birth to 12. It will be at Northern Michigan University’s Peter White Lounge. The event will include pizza, Christmas music and Santa.
