Craft sale — The 2017 Fall Extravaganza Bake-Craft-Vendor-New Gifts To Go sale is planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at 200 Lost Creek Drive, Marquette. There will be 22 booths and 22 prizes to be given away. Admission and coffee are free.

Fall Craft Bazaar — is planned by the South County Fund Committee Women Who Care, a non-profit organization. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the West Branch Township Hall, 1016 County Road 545 N. Featured will be soup, sandwiches, and of course, the group’s famous pies. Proceeds go toward scholarships, grants which support youth development, and the local food pantry.

Free adoptions — The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is partnering with BISSELL Pet Foundation for their “Empty the Shelters” adoption day. UPAWS is among more than 70-plus participating Michigan shelters and rescue organizations, to give animals a second chance at life and love. Bissell Pet Foundation will pay all adoption fees and thank families for choosing adoption with the gift from Bissell Pet Foundation. Tea and fashion — Ishpeming Carnegie Friends of the Library’s Tea & Fashion Show which is set at Bethany Lutheran Church, 715 Mather Ave., Ishpeming. Browsing time begins at 1 p.m. with the tea commencing at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at both the library and the Crock & Rocker.

MooseWood — “The Hope of Fungi Amidst the 6th Mass Extinction: Spiritual Experience, Medicine, and Human Evolution” is a presentation being offered twice at MooseWood Nature Center, from 2-4 p.m. A suggested donation of $20/adult is being asked or pay what you can to help support MooseWood and the instructor. Tea party — The Fundraising Committee for the Forsyth Township Public Library will be hosting its third annual “Tea Party” from 2-4 p.m. at the Gwinn Clubhouse. This year’s theme “All Dressed Up” will feature a style show of prom dresses from the 1950s to present day. Tickets for this event are available at the library or from any library board trustee.
