Firemen — Marquette’s West Bluff Street will be closed to traffic from Seventh Street to Morgan Street from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. to accommodate the annual Firemen’s Parade and static display. The rain date is Saturday, Oct. 14.

Youth outdoors — from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., kids ages 7-17 are invited to go to Seney Wildlife Refuge for a full day of fun and exploration of the natural world. This year’s activities include Wildlife CSI, Fruiting Fungi, Archery, Birds of Prey, and more. This is a rain or shine event and some sessions are physically demanding. Only 12 kids can participate in each session. All youth must be accompanied by an adult and must bring a sack lunch as lunch is not provided. The fee for the event is $5. Noises Off — Northern Michigan University’s Forest Roberts Theatre is beginning its 2017-18 season with “Noises Off,” a British farce by Michael Frayn at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the public, $10 for students and $5 for NMU students.
