‘Pink Week’ at the Gossard
ISHPEMING — “Pink Week” is happening at the Gossard Building in downtown Ishpeming through Saturday in honor of Kate LaFave, owner of RE: Home, a retail tenant of the Gossard.
LaFave was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2017. She spent her summer in treatment and her journey of healing is still a long road ahead, but she wishes to give back and help others.
Her friends and second family at the Gossard have set up an event to raise money, with donations going to Cancer Care of Marquette County.
As part of the event, light refreshments will be available from noon to 4 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Ten percent of sales from UPtown GIfts and RE: Home will be donated. Also there will be a gift basket drawing and a special vendor, Janet’s Homemade Breads, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Other businesses in the Gossard will offer Pink Week specials as well.
