Last sunrise lighthouse tour set

MARQUETTE — Marquette Maritime Museum presents the last Sunrise & Coffee Lighthouse tour of the 2017 season at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Screening by appointment offered

MARQUETTE — Residents living in and around Marquette can learn about their risk of cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and other chronic conditions with affordable screenings by Life Line Screening.

Citizen’s Forum at Lakeview Arena, Marquette, will be the site for this event Friday. Preregistration is required.

Screenings are available to those with trouble walking or in wheelchairs. Free parking is available.

Genealogy lock-in planned

MARQUETTE — The Peter White Public Library announces the Fall Genealogy Lock-In will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Shiras Room.

Those interested in researching family history and who have attended a beginning or intermediate genealogy workshop are welcome to attend. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Participants will be admitted to the library after-hours through the west parking-lot-side doors beginning at 6:15 p.m.

The workshop will begin with a keynote session on Naturalization Records presented by Joan Ball, president of the Marquette County Genealogical Society, followed by a computer session on Immigration Records, led by Laurie Johnson, genealogy researcher, and Pat Bernard’s presentation on U.S. Ports of Entry.

The last session offers time for individual research.

Participants will have computer privileges and access to experienced genealogists during the workshop. Computer skills are required for the computer session, or bring someone to assist.
