Colloquium — Psychologist Mary Pelton-Cooper will give a presentation titled “Psychotherapy with People on the Autism Spectrum: A Clinician’s Perspective” at Northern Michigan University at 3 p.m. in 1322 Jamrich Hall. It is part of the Department of Psychological Science Colloquium Series.
Fish fry — Ishpeming VFW Post 4573, 310 Bank St., will be having Friday Night Fish Fry, from 4-7 p.m. Take out available. Cooked and served by volunteers, the meal will include a choice of perch, cod, salmon or shrimp. In addition, golden fried chicken, ribeye steaks and burgers are available. Tech help — Members of Northern Michigan University’s Student Cybersecurity Association will be available to help with the operation of personal technology devices from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Peter White Public Library Computer Lab. This drop-in opportunity is for those having problems with their laptops, tablets, e-readers, phones or other digital devices. No appointment is necessary and there is no charge for this service. Explore Tech Engineering Challenge — LEGO Robotics, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Peter White Public Library Youth Atrium. This week during LEGO club, we will be completing an Engineering Challenge. Fish fry — is 5-7:30 p.m., Negaunee Eagles Club.
Fish fry — Marquette American Legion will begin its fish fry from 5-7 p.m. at the post, 700 W. Bluff St. There is a choice of whitefish, shrimp, or chicken strips plus french fries or baked potato. All meals include cole slaw. The public is welcome.
IHS Homecoming Parade — Ishpeming High School Homecoming Parade starts at 6 p.m. The parade starts at the high school on Pearl Street east to Third Street, turns north on Third Street to Cleveland Avenue, west on Cleveland to First Street, north on First to Empire Street, west on Empire to playgrounds. Each of the high school classes will have a float with anyone in the class available walking behind it. The flag football players and Birchview cheerleaders will also be in the parade.
