‘Get Out’ screening held Tuesday

MARQUETTE — The Peter White Public Library invites film fans to enjoy a bring your own dinner movie event at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a screening of the 2017 film “Get Out” in the library’s community room.

African-American Chris is meeting his white girlfriend’s parents for the first time. At first, all goes well; however, after time the visit turns into a nightmare that no one could have expected. Starring Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams and Bradley Whitford, this horror mystery is rated R and runs 1 hour and 44 minutes.

Pheasants Forever start-up meeting

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Area Pheasants Forever chapter start-up meeting will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn in Marquette.

The public is invited to join the Pheasants Forever biologist and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to talk about opportunities to start a chapter and help wildlife in the Marquette area.
