Poetry Reading — Beverly Matherne, finalist in Upper Peninsula Poet Laureate competitions for 2015 and 2017, will read at 11 a.m., followed by a free senior lunch at noon at the Michigamme Community Building at 202 W. Afternoons at the Museum — The Michigan Iron Industry Museum hosts Afternoons at the Museum at 2 p.m. “The Labor Sport Union in the Upper Peninsula,” Gabe Logan, Ph.D., director, Center for Upper Peninsula Studies, Northern Michigan University. Storytime — There will be a new storytime at 4:30 p.m. at the Negaunee Public Library. This will be for children ages 5 years and older (younger siblings are welcome to attend), and will offer a variety of programs, including book samples, crafts, and occasional LEGO building sessions.
