Forest Roberts ticket deals declared
MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University’s Forest Roberts Theatre is offering a new season ticket structure, along with a Flex Four Pass option, for its 2017-18 Mainstage productions.
Season tickets offer a same night/same seat guarantee. This year’s Mainstage season includes six shows instead of the usual four.The tickets cover admission to Noises Off, Constellations, Scrooge, the Fringe Fest, the NMU Dance Concert and Tarzan.
Also new this year, all opening nights of Mainstage productions will feature a free post-show red carpet gala with complimentary food, beverages, music, photo booth and a meet and greet with the cast and creative team. Season tickets are $72 for the general public, $45 for students and $20 for NMU students.
As the name implies, the Flex Four Pass offers convenience and flexibility. Audience members can use it like a punch card to reserve a select number of seats for the shows and nights they choose. The Flex Four Pass is $48 for the general public, $30 for students and $10 for NMU students.
Both options are available at all NMU EZ Ticket outlets or online at nmu.edu/tickets.
Room At The Inn fundraiser set
MARQUETTE — Room At The Inn will be hosting the inaugural “Home Run” fundraising event on Aug. 23.
Marquette’s own “Amazing Race,” Home Run will feature four-person teams heading out from Marquette Mountain Ski Hill to “run the bases” (in their cars) around Marquette by solving clues and scoring points.
Meanwhile, the ski hill be having a party while the racers are on the course. Food, drinks, games, bucket drawings, and live music, featuring Dave Berry, will start at 6 p.m.

All proceeds will support operational expenses of the emergency shelter and warming center.
Gwinn VFW holding breakfast
GWINN — Gwinn VFW Post 5670 will sponsor a breakfast buffet from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Aug. 13 at the club.
The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for kids under 10 years. On the menu will be pancakes, french toast, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, coffee, juice, and milk.
Dance planned for Rock center
ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community-Senior Center, 3892 W. Mapleridge Road, from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13.
Music will be provided by Angels and Outlaws.
The cost is $5 per person and a freewill donation lunch will be available. All proceeds benefit the Rock Senior Corp.
