MCHD — Clinic Services available today at the Marquette County Health Department are: HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing, Family Planning, Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening, STD, and Health Services from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. A WIC Clinic will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

12-Step Recovery Groups — offered daily at the Alano Club, 1202 S. Front St., Marquette.

Carnegie summer — The Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library offers Harry Potter Party from 1-3 p.m. Join in for a party celebrating the 10th anniversary of the publication of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” There will be trivia, crafts, games, and more. Ages 10+.

Garden Tour — The Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee Inc.’s 24th annual Garden Tour will take place from 1-7 p.m., rain or shine. The homes on the garden tour are Marv Zehnder, 425 E. Smolens talk —  Author John Smolens will be at the Curtis Public Library at 1 p.m. Smolens, the director of Northern Michigan University’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program, is an acclaimed short story and fiction writer. Many of his books are set in the Upper Peninsula. His newest book is “Wolf’s Mouth.” Smolens will bring his books, his wife and his golden retriever for his visit to Curtis.

Peter White Public Library Teen Thursday — Build Art in a Tin, 2-4 p.m. Marquette Arts and Culture Center Workshop 3 on the library’s lower level. Build a tiny world inside an Altoids tin, or turn your tin into a work of robot art. Students in fifth grade and up are welcome. Materials provided. Free of charge. Concert — The 2017 L’Anse Lakefront Concert Program features All Strings Considered. This free concert is at 7 p.m. in Lakefront Park at the foot of Broad Street. Those attending should bring a lawnchair or blanket. Meadowbrook Arena is the inclement weather alternate site.

Memorial service — Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice will hold its 2017 Summer Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at Carp River Gardens in Negaunee. The service is open to anyone in the community who has lost a loved one and would like to honor and celebrate that person’s memory. All are welcome to attend. RSVP to 225-7760 if you plan to attend and would like to light a candle for your loved one as his/her name is read.
