UPAWS has special on cats

NEGAUNEE — The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter has $10 cat adoption rates through June 30 on those felines 6 months and up.

Cats of all ages and personality types await the perfect match-up and a person to love. All adoptions include spay or neuter, initial vaccines including rabies vaccine, general health check, microchip, Dr. Tim’s Chase cat food discount coupon and more. The adopter will receive a gift of a pretty handmade blanket made by caring volunteers and be entered in a gift cat basket drawing.

Mail prep needed for newsletter

ISHPEMING — Volunteers are needed for mail preparation of the Ishpeming High School Alumni Association newsletter, The Beacon Light.

The preparation will take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Volunteers are asked to report to the Ishpeming High School library. Use the Division Street entrance as all others will be locked.

Work will consist of labeling approximately 6,000 pieces of mail.

Beautification group to meet

NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Beautification Committee will meet at the Pocket Park on Iron Street at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The items for the Iron Ore carts will be ready for pickup. A workbee in the park will be held prior to a meeting at the Midtown Bakery and Cafe. Everyone is welcome and no experience is needed. For further information contact Anna Mattson at 475-5058.
