MAPS to graduate GEDs

MARQUETTE — Marquette Area Public Schools will celebrate the graduation of the 2016-2017 GED students from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Vandenboom School Gym. A small potluck will take place immediately following the ceremony.

Perennial fruits course planned

CHATHAM — A short course on perennial fruits will run from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the North Farm, N5431 Rock River Road.

Participants will learn about variety selection, establishment and cultural practices, including growing in high tunnels, for nurturing berries in a northern climate from Eric Hanson of Michigan State University. They also will take home raspberry plants.

Carnegie DIY program set

ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming Carnegie Friends of the Library are offering a special for the month of June on used DIY (do-it-yourself), “How To” and Crafting books for the bargain price of 6/$1.

Various topics of interest can be found in Friends Corner, on the library’s main floor.
