Youth Money — Marquette Regional History Center Presents: Youth Money Management at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center. American Lyric — Northern Michigan University has scheduled a semester-long series of presentations, film screenings, reading groups and creative responses to Claudia Rankine’s “Citizen: An American Lyric,” this year’s Diversity Common Reader Program selection. The book recounts mounting racial aggressions in ongoing encounters in 21st century daily life and in the media. All are free and open to the public. A program titled “The Skeleton in Our Closet: The KKK in Michigan” will be held at 7 p.m. in NMU’s Olson Library. Presenters are Marcus Robyns, NMU archivist; Frank Boyles, director of Clarke Historical Library; and Jessica Holman, director of the Negaunee Public Library.

Colorectal cancer — March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. James Surrell, MD, gastrotenterologist at UP Health System – Marquette, and Catherine Bammert, MS, CT, MB (ASCP) CM will deliver a free public presentation on colorectal cancer at 7 p.m. in the UP Health System – Marquette Conference Center, located on the third floor of the hospital’s College Avenue East Entrance in Marquette. The presentation is free to the public and no registration is required.

Your Health — Vaccines are among the most effective ways to prevent serious disease at any age, but a number of misperceptions about immunizations have sparked a national debate. The next Your Health presentation at Northern Michigan University will address this issue. Dr. B. Keith English, chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, will present “Millions of Lives Saved: The Incredible Impact of Immunizations.” His talk begins at 7 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall. Admission is free.
