The LovEvolve show held Sunday

MARQUETTE — From 7 to 11 p.m. Sunday, the Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette will host the fourth annual Love Show, titled The LovEvolve Show 2017.

The event will feature local wellness practitioners, artists, authors, environmentalists and musicians as well as hula hoop and acrobatic yoga performances.

Admission is $5 and includes a raffle ticket. Prizes include yoga classes, massage certificates, gift cards, local art and much more.

All proceeds from the show go to support the initiation of a new community space in Marquette called the Superior Center for Unitive Studies. The center will serve as an open physical space for people and organizations dedicated to the health of the human mind, body and spirit and the creation of a sustainable social system.

Chamber to award scholarship

MUNISING — The Alger County Chamber of Commerce has announced a scholarship to be awarded the spring of 2017.

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a person of any age and educational endeavor planning to attend an accredited higher education program/institution. The potential or current student can either be pursuing an undergraduate education or a graduate program. Requirements include: Alger County resident and a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Choir to perform in Curtis Sunday

CURTIS — The Erickson Center for the Arts in Curtis presents “Road Trip, Get the Show on the Road!” with the Northern Michigan University’s Lake Effect Show Choir at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Advance tickets on sale now at the ECA office: $10 for adults and $5 for students. Reserve or purchase tickets by calling the ECA office at 906-586-9974.

Community dinner held in Ishpeming

ISHPEMING — Spaghetti and meatballs will be served at the next Community Dinner at 5 p.m. Sunday at Hope Free Lutheran Church in west Ishpeming.

Presbytery Point Camp benefit

ISHPEMING — The 10th annual Afternoon of Music Concert for Presbytery Point Camp will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church, 112 E. Euclid, Ishpeming.

A freewill offering will support camperships for all kids coming to camp during the 2017 season. Talented musicians from the local area will be featured including piano, string, guitar, vocal, trumpet, and more. A freewill offering will be taken, followed by light refreshments in the church hall. Classic curbside parking, with front entrance accessible, behind the historic Mather Inn.
