Tech Help Drop-in — NMU’s Association of Information Technology Professionals student group will help anyone with technology operating problems. This drop in is for anyone having problems getting their laptops, tablets, e-readers, phones and other digital equipment up and running. No appointment needed. Fish fry — Ishpeming VFW Post 4573, 310 Bank St., will have a Friday Fish Fry from 4-7 p.m.

Take outs are available. Also steak, fried chicken and burgers are on the menu. Call 486-4856.

Tailgate — Northern Michigan University’s Special Events Committee will host the inaugural WinterFest Tailgate from 5-7 p.m. before the NMU-Michigan Tech hockey game. The tailgate will be held in a heated tent between the PEIF and the Berry Events Center. The event will include hot chocolate, music by DoubleTrouble DJs and activities that incorporate the WinterFest theme of Alice in Winterland. “Minute to Win It”-style games with prizes include Queen of Hearts, which involves finding the hidden face card in the tent. There will also be a Mad Hatter hat competition and a sign competition to create items to bring to the game.

Teen Night — is 6-10 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Gwinn. Free movies, games and popcorn. Call 346-6115.
