Play — The Westwood Shakespeare Young Company will present its Sea Change version of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” at The Patriot Performing Arts Theatre at Westwood High School at 11 a.m. Tickets for Sea Change are available at the PPAT Box Office one hour before showtime: $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $5 per seat for any group of 5 or more. Tailgate — Northern Michigan University’s Special Events Committee will host the inaugural WinterFest Tailgate from 5-7 p.m. before the NMU-Michigan Tech hockey game. The tailgate will be held in a heated tent between the PEIF and the Berry Events Center. The event will include hot chocolate, music by DoubleTrouble DJs and activities that incorporate the WinterFest theme of Alice in Winterland. “Minute to Win It”-style games with prizes include Queen of Hearts, which involves finding the hidden face card in the tent. There will also be a Mad Hatter hat competition and a sign competition to create items to bring to the game.
