‘Sully’ to be screened Tuesday
MARQUETTE — On Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., the Peter White Public Library will show “Sully” in the library’s community room as part of its Matinee Movie series.
This biographical drama tells the story of Captain Chesley Sullenberger’s split decision to land flight 1549 on the Hudson River when two of his engines fail. Although there are no fatalities or serious injuries, his decision comes under intense scrutiny, questioning his judgment and threatening his career. Starring Tom Hanks and directed by Clint Eastwood, this movie is rated PG-13.
Matinee Movie welcomes the public to bring a lunch or buy from the library cafe and enjoy the movie in a dinner theater setting. Closed captioning will be on to ensure access for all.

Breakfast buffet held in Rock
ROCK — The Rock Lions monthly Third Sunday, all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Rock Lions Club along M-35 in Rock.
The buffet includes eggs prepared to order and omelets, bacon, sausage, ham, hash brown potatoes, biscuits and sausage gravy, pancakes, french toast, english muffins, cereal, a variety of fruits, lots of dessert items, and coffee, tea, milk and juice. Admission is adults $8; ages 6-12 $5; and ages 5 and under eat free.
Kindergarten registration in March
NEGAUNEE — Negaunee Public Schools junior kindergarten-kindergarten registration is planned in early March.
Parents of children who will be five years old by Dec. 1 are invited to register for the 2017-2018 school year. Registration will take place in the Lakeview Elementary School cafeteria at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 2. This is an informative meeting for parents. Parents will have an opportunity to have questions answered by staff regarding transportation, breakfast/lunch, before/after school program, and health concerns.
On registration night, parents should bring a copy of their child’s certified/state-issued birth certificate; immunization record; and a current picture (to remain in the file)
Screening will take place April 17-21 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Negaunee. To sign up for a spring screening appointment, call the Lakeview office at 475-7803 ext. 0 as soon as possible.
In accordance with recent changes in state law, parents may need to sign a waiver to enroll their child who reaches five years of age between Sept. 1 and Dec. 1. Those with any questions can call the NPS superintendent’s office at 475-7803.
