Ag education program set

CHATHAM — “On-Farm Experiential Learning for Teachers” at the MARESA Institute will be June 21-22 at Northern Michigan University and the Michigan State University North Farm in Chatham.

The on-farm experience is designed to empower educators to carry out project-based agriculture, food and natural resources education in the classroom.

It will provide an opportunity to view tested activities, like saving seeds, composting with worms and using garden produce in a classroom, in a hands-on context.

Participants also will visit the MSU North Farm to practice topics learned at NMU.

The cost is $60. To register, visit www.solutionwhere.com/WW/MARESA/Default.aspx.

Information also can be found at the Marquette-Alger Regional Educational Service Agency’s website at www.maresa.org.
