Chocolate Festival fundraiser held
MARQUETTE — SAIL, Disability Network of the U.P. will be hosting its ninth annual Chocolate Festival fundraiser for the One in Five Campaign to benefit the varied programs of SAIL across the U.P.
The Chocolate Festival features local restaurants, bakeries and chocolatiers who donate delicious samples of chocolate desserts, or they just may create new tastings for the community to try.
Tickets are $10 per person, 5-year-olds and under are free through 5 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $15 at the door.

MSHS eighth-grade orientation
MARQUETTE — Marquette Senior High School eighth-grade orientation is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. Wednesday at MSHS.
The orientation will welcome students from Father Marquette and Bothwell middle schools and other interested eighth-graders from the area. Marquette Area Public Schools will make busing arrangements for Father Marquette and Bothwell students.
The orientation will include an MSHS campus tour, a full menu lunch in the cafeteria, an overview of freshmen classes and an introduction to organizations, activities and athletics. MSHS faculty and administration will serve as tour guides and class presenters.
Early dismissal will be at 10:45 a.m. that day for students in grades 9-12. Busing will be provided for those students immediately following the dismissal, and lunch will not be served to high school students.
An eighth-grade Parent Orientation Night will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Little Theater at MSHS, an event that’s exclusively for parents. Topics of discussion at this orientation will include an overview of graduation requirements and academic programs provided at MSHS.
Also presented will be opportunities of support and advancement as well as information on organizations, activities and athletic sports available at MSHS. Time will be allotted to address parents’ questions and concerns.

Essential oil exploration event
MARQUETTE — The public is invited to join Trailhead Holistic Health Collective for an evening of essential oil exploration.
Learn the basics of safely incorporating essential oils to support and enhance emotional health and when to reach out for professional guidance.
This event is held at Trailhead Holistic Health Collective’s Community Room, 1055 W. Baraga Ave. in Marquette, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. These community events are free, but space is limited so call to reserve a spot: 906-251-0339.
