PWPL hosts teen writing contest

MARQUETTE — From April 1 through May 1, Peter White Public Library and the Marquette Monthly will offer a writing contest open to all students in grades 9 to 12.

Teens are invited to submit entries in one of the following categories: Fiction Short Story, Poetry, Opinion Essay; one entry per person. Two prizes will be awarded in each category, with first place winners awarded $125 and second place $75. Guidelines for word length and format, along with submission requirements, are available at PWPL Teen Services or Youth Services, or online at www.pwpl.info. Prizes, and a June reception for all entrants, will be funded by a generous donation from Allyn Roberts in memory of Forrest Roberts.
