Show set for April 8 at MRHC
MARQUETTE — For the eighth year, Marquette area designers are gearing up to present their brand new clothing lines — well, sort of brand new.
In partnership with the Garden Bouquet and Design and Lanni Lantto, fashion (re) designer, the Marquette Regional History Center presents the eighth annual (re)Design Fashion Show Fundraiser. This event, set for April 8, is the largest gathering of upcycled artists in the Upper Peninsula, according to a release from organizers.
The event showcases fashion by local designers Taylor Ehle, Libby Buchler, JoAnne Shelby, Ann Rutkoske and Cindy Hallum. Each designer will present their 2017 clothing line during this high-energy runway show. This fashion show is for all ages and each item is wearable and for sale. Local craft vendors will also be at the event, featuring upcycled, recycled, repurposed and earth-friendly work. Accessories, original artwork and more will be on display.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and 18 and under. Tickets are available at the Marquette Regional History Center. Proceeds from this event will benefit the History Center. Visit and “like” “(re)Design Fashion Show” on Facebook, visit www.marquettehistory.org or call Garden Bouquet and Design at (906) 225-5020 for more information.
Doors open for the event at 1:30 p.m. The runway show begins and 2 p.m. Vendors will be open from 3 to 4 p.m.
