Blind Groundhog Beer Sampling tickets available

MARQUETTE — The Community Foundation of Marquette County, and its affiliate the Marquette Area Community Fund, will host the second annual Blind Groundhog Beer Sampling event Friday.

The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center. Tickets are $40, and designated driver tickets cost $15. They can be purchased at

Guests at the event can try “blind” samples of beers selected by Upper Peninsula brewers, with each of the brews to be revealed at the end of the evening.

Food from Border Grill will be available and featured beers will be supplied by Blackrocks Brewery, Cognition Brewing Company, Bell’s Brewer, Upper Hand Brewery, Ore Dock Brewing Company and Founders Brewing Co. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.

The event will raise money for the community foundation’s grants program, which provides funding to several local charities.

Participants must be at least 21 years old to try samples, and a valid ID is required at the door.
