MARQUETTE — The Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette will celebrate its five year anniversary today with some special release beer, live music, beer and cheese pairings and a “dunk the brewer” event.

“We are so humbled and proud to be celebrating five rotations around that big burning ball of sun,” the Ore Dock’s website states.

The special release beer is called the Wooden Man, “a sour blond ale aged with wild blueberries,” the website states. The 500 milliliter bottles, which will be released at noon, will sell for $10 apiece, with the first 75 people also to receive a commemorative Wooden Man poster.

Meanwhile, the brewery will host a “beer dash” with Queen City Running Co. Registration is $15 and begins at 10:30 a.m. outside the Ore Dock. The run starts at 11:15 a.m. For more details, visit ore-dock.com/events/anniversary.

From 1 to 3 p.m., beer and cheese pairing will be available. Two beers and two cheeses cost $5, or four beers and four cheeses cost $10. Orders can be made at the bar.

Later in the day, from 5 to 7 p.m., the “dunk the brewer” event will take place. Three attempts to dunk an Ore Dock brewer will cost $5, with proceeds going toward “Phil’s Fund,” which organizers said commemorates Phil Niemisto and his dedication to the downtown Marquette area and community.
