Marquette Restaurant Week kicks off Sunday

MARQUETTE — Local foodies will have a full week to visit some of their favorite dining establishments for special menu items and prices during Marquette Restaurant Week beginning Sunday.

“We work with the Eastside Originals Independent Restaurant Association to put on restaurant week,” said Tara Laase-McKinney, promotions and events coordinator with the Marquette Downtown Development Authority. “This year we actually have more than 20 participating restaurants from all over the downtown district.”

From Sunday through March 19, restaurants will offer $10 lunch menus and $25 select dinner menus, some of which may be outside their normal offerings, Laase-McKinney said.

“It’s a great chance for restaurants to try out new items that they may be considering putting on their menu or to get creative,” she said, adding that dinners have the opportunity to “try new things or go out and get old favorites at some of their local restaurants.”
