Veridea makes many promotions

MARQUETTE — Marquette-based real estate developer Veridea Group recently announced several key promotions among its executive and management staff.

Charles Holsworth was promoted to senior vice president. In his new role, Holsworth will focus on operations of Veridea’s hotel, residential and commercial properties as well as take an active role in strategic planning initiatives across the company. Holsworth has been with Veridea for seven years, first joining the company in a management position at the Country Inn and Suites, Marquette, and progressing to vice president of hospitality prior to his latest promotion.

“Charlie’s contributions to Veridea have included not only building our hotel portfolio but also in building our company’s culture of excellence,” said Veridea President Robert Mahaney. “Under Charlie’s leadership, our hotels have been recognized for their exceptional guest service and strong operating results.”

Also receiving a promotion was Peggy DeWitt, who will now serve as the company’s director of operations and administration. In her new role, DeWitt oversees the day-to-day operational aspects of the Veridea office, the company’s property holdings, its maintenance and facilities staff, and tenant relations. DeWitt has been employed at Veridea for five years as the office manager and executive assistant.

“Her leadership by example has helped us build strong standards or excellence across Veridea and in her new position she will be able to have an even greater impact on our staff and clients,” Mahaney said.

Dan Grille has been promoted to director of sales and marketing. He will be responsible for revenue generation across the company’s properties as well as strategic marketing initiatives. Grille served as the hospitality director of sales for four years, during which time he exceeded company expectations for revenue generation across all of the Veridea hotel properties and developed and trained staff on sales initiatives.

“Dan’s achievements as hospitality director of sales have been impressive and we look forward to his continued success as he uses his expertise to the benefit of all of Veridea’s properties,” Holsworth said.

After serving for one year as procurement manager, Josh Paquette, has assumed the role of director of operational Strategies. In his new role, he will ensure that Veridea’s properties operate at peak efficiency by implementing cost controls, operational process improvements and employee development opportunities.

Holsworth noted that Paquette’s background in lean management makes him ideal for the role.
