GINCC prepares to launch annual Holiday Punch Card Campaign
The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is ready to launch its annual Holiday Punch Card Campaign beginning Wednesday!
The Punch Card Campaign encourages people to spend their money locally with chamber member businesses while doing their holiday shopping, versus ordering online or going to a big box store. The campaign is also a way the GINCC can track how much money stays in the community during the holiday season. In 2016, the GINCC tracked nearly $40,000 spent at chamber member businesses and hopes to total more this year!
Community members wishing to participate save their receipts from chamber member businesses from Nov. 1 – Dec. 20 and bring the receipts to the chamber office. We will then tally up receipt totals, and for every $50 someone spends with a chamber member business, they will be entered in to win prizes. The prize drawing will be held the morning of Dec. 21 and winners will be contacted immediately.
There are a few rules to the punch card:
≤ Monthly expenses, such as rent and utilities, personal banking statements, or other personal finance investments or transactions may not be counted toward your Punch Card total; however, grocery shopping receipts, gas station receipts, restaurant receipts, and things of this nature may be counted.
≤ Individual purchases may be redeemed up to $500.
≤ All receipts must be in to the chamber office by the end of business (5 p.m.) on Dec. 20 to be considered eligible to win prizes.
A list of chamber member businesses is available on the GINCC website at www.gincc.org under DIRECTORY, or people are welcome to stop by the chamber office.
The GINCC wants to remind everyone to shop locally this holiday season, and we hope to see lots of receipts coming through the door!
