Kroll renews credentials as certified hand therapist at UP Rehab Services
MARQUETTE — Sara Kroll of UP Health System Rehab Services, managed by UP Rehab Services, has renewed her designation as a certified hand therapist after completing all requirements in 2017.
A certified hand therapist offers patients the assurance that the therapist treating them has achieved the highest recognition of competency in their profession, according to a press release. Kroll’s credentials were renewed through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission Inc., an organization that grants hand therapy certification in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa.
Kroll has been credentialed since 2012 after meeting strict eligibility requirements and passing the rigorous Hand Therapy Certification Examination. Certification is granted for five years. In order to renew and maintain this certification at the end of the five-year period, CHTs must demonstrate current knowledge in the profession through work experience and professional development activities, or by taking the examination again. There are about 5,400 people worldwide who hold this marked designation.
Kroll has worked in the rehabilitation field for 14 years assisting people in their recovery from shoulder, elbow, wrist, finger and hand injuries.
